Stuff

I took the day off work today so that I could spend some time with Halle. I got her up at 9 (YES, 9; I have the sleepiest sleepy head in the world, she went to bed at 8 last night, this is how every weekend goes too). I gave her some breakfast with her snuggled on my lap, which was wonderful. Then we headed off to Thanksgiving Point Farm. There we saw a colt that was only 1 week old. She was SO cute. We fed her mama. We saw lots of cows, fed the goats and llama things (they weren't llamas or alpalcas, but they looked like them), fed the chickens, and fed lots of horsies. I couldn't believe Halle was brave enough to hold her hand out and feed the horses. She road a pony and loved it. If anyone is down here for a few hours I suggest going to this farm. We'll happily tag along. Them we came home and ate pizza and candy together and now she is napping. So, I thought I'd take some time to blog about some random stuff.

Lately she's had this fascination with doing really weird poses and she really cackles when you copy her. She even started posing today for the colt and her mama. Weird. It's really hard to get a picture of, so here are some pictures of my attempts at getting her poses. Mostly it's her falling down though.
Isn't she cute??This is Patch cuddled in the blanket. I was sitting beside him, but got up to get the camera.
He figured out I was gone. Isn't he cute??
This is him locked in his crate. He puts his paws up real high like this when he thinks people are doing fun stuff without him. Pathetic.

My puppies are so obedient. Rameses is too awqward (how do you spell this word??) to sit so he always lays down for his treat. Patch is wearing his new coat so that he stays warm. He'll actually go to the bathroom at night when he has it on. Hallelujah.Halle loves to look at pictures and videos. We can literally spend hours just watching home videos. We hook the video camera up to the TV and just hang out and watch. This is me taking some pictures of us together and then I would show her them. She liked that.
This is us doing the same thing. She's so silly.Daddy LOVES tickling Halle. Halle LOVES being tickled. If you stop then she'll grab your hand and put it to her neck so that you'll tickle her more.
This is her gleeful face mid-tickle.
On Monday our ward had Trunk or Treat. Halle is a ladybug this year. Last year we were in Texas for Halloween and Halle was terrified of going up to the houses to get candy. Now she knows what candy is and will do anything to get it. See July's post "Catching up" for last Halloween pictures. Anyway, she had a blast going car to car. I'll get some more pictures of her costome tomorrow to share.
Yesterday Jared took Halle to this bounce place. He bought a punch pass a while ago because she loves it there. After her nap we plan and picking daddy up at work and going again today. I've never been able to go with her, so I'm really excited.

I hear she slides really fast. Looks like it too. Her cute Halloween shirt says "Purrfectly Pretty".
Well, that's it for now. I'm going to take my nap too. Happy Halloween!!

Happy Birthday, Rameses!

Tuesday, October 14 was Rameses' birthday. He turned 5! I figured the poor guy had never had a proper celebration for his birthday, so I made him some cupcakes. I found the recipe on the internet. They're basically carrot, peanut butter, honey cupcakes.Me with my lovely cupcakes. I was so proud. This is the dogs loving their treats. They were both laying down, but Patch gets so jealous when Rameses gets his bite that he just has to get up. Can't you tell from his back legs that he is standing up from being down?? Promse. I'm so proud I have them trained. They aren't allowed to have a treat unless they are sitting or laying down. Now when I get out treats I just look at them and Patch sits or lays down and Rameses lays down (he's too big and awkward to sit). I'm getting closer and closer towards that agility training, mom!! Then I took some cute pictures of Rameses for his bday.
His other cute picture. His eyes always turned out like that. I tried turning off red eye, but by then he was done doing cute poses with his ears up.
This is from another day, but Rameses and Patch did play on his birthday. They have SO much fun! I really don't know how they survived without each other. Rameses completely adores Patch and has so much fun playing with him. That's really nice because Patch has SOOOO much energy it's nice that Rameses can help us out a little to tire him out. (The thing on his shoulder is a defect in the picture; he doesn't have an injury on his shoulder...they greyhound adoption people were worried when I sent them this picture.)
This is a REALLY cute picture of Patch on Rameses' birthday. We attempted to take a picture of Patch jumping so you could see how high he jumps (up to my chest). But no matter what mode we had the camera on this was the best we could get. He's so fast!

Well, the BYU vs TCU game is finally over and our guests have left, so now I can go enjoy the TV all for myself and watch The Office.

Disney World

We left for Disney World on August 20 to celebrate Jared and Jory's graduations. THANK YOU, Grandpa Jess and Grandma Joan. We had a great time and appreciate your selflessness.

We were in Florida for 6 days and 5 nights, but only had 4 day passes since we were only there for 4 full days. So, since we couldn't go to a park the first night, we had a character dinner at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary.

Halle was thrilled to see the characters. Then they would come visit and she would be terrified. She wouldn't be near them and wouldn't look at the camera. She just hid. So, here's a cute picture of Alyvia with Goofy and Halle hiding. Then Sunday morning we headed to Magic Kingdom. They gave the kids stickers and Halle had to put them on her face. This ended up being a horrible idea. I don't know if she was allergic, or if those things are extra sticky so that they stay on sweaty faces or what. I could tell her cheeks were getting a little red, so we took them off. She looked like she had a huge swollen sun burn on each cheek and we looked like terrible parents. I wish we had a picture to show this. We put healing ointment on it that day for her nap and that night and she looked fine the next morning. We went on the Buzz Lightyear ride, which is one of Halle's favorites. As we came out Buzz was out getting pictures. Halle was so excited. She watches Toy Story a few times a week and when she wants to watch it she just asks for "Buzz". We typically have to fast forward the movie until the part where Buzz comes in.After this time at Magic Kingdom we left the family, took the car back and went back to the room to get Halle down for a nap. She crashed before we made it there, and this was only after being in one park for 4 hours. How was the rest of the trip going to end up? After the nap we headed to Epcot to meet up with the rest of the family and eat some dinner.
The rest of the family went to Japan for dinner. Since that is essentially like eating at Benihanas we decided against it and wanted something more authentic. So, the three of us headed to Morocco. Jared liked the belly dancer. We had lamb with couscous and Halle had "moroccan pasta with meatballs" interpreted as Spaghetti.
Halle loved the monorail and always wanted to stand and just hold onto the bar like all of the adults.
We went to Animal Kingdom and went to the little petting area. The girls loved this...
...so did the goats. I just loved this goat, he just looked so happy to have all of this attention.
Outside of Animal Kingdom there is this little shop. They had these "sunglasses" that were supposed to protect you from th UV Rays, etc. just like normal sunglasses. Probably because they completely block your vision and the sun can't get in. They looked so dumb, and I'm not sure how someone could function with these things.

Now if you don't know who this is, then you don't have chilren. This is Rocket from Little Einsteins. MGM has a Playhouse Disney area and we went over there on the night the park was open late. Apparently on the late nights they have a big dance party and there was a ton of characters and even more kids. We danced until about midnight.
Mickey happened to be at the dance party. We are SO lucky because in Magic Kingdom there is typically a one hour wait or so to get a picture with Mickey. Here we just walked up and said hi. It was awesome. We did get a picture with him at Chef Mickey's, but it was in a little chef outfit, and I really wanted a picture in Mickey's regular outfit.
Minnie was there too. Which, again, it's rare to get a picture like this.
It would appear I was much more thrilled by Minnie and Mickey than Halle was. But, like I said before, she was completely thrilled to see them, but once it came to getting a picture she was terrified.

This is just a cute picture of Halle and dad in their sunglasses.

Also in MGM there is a character lunch with the Playhouse Disney characters. Again, if you don't have a child you will have no clue who these characters are. Jared's family went to the 50's diner where they yell at you if you don't eat all of your food. Halle LOVES these characters, so we decided to wait for an opening there. We actually ended up getting in before Jared's family, even though they had a reservation. This is JoJo from JoJo's circus. Goliath, her pet lion was there, but we didn't get such a great picture of that. Notice that Halle is getting the picture all by herself. This was a HUGE step. I put her down and she ran over to JoJo, SO excited! She even let JoJo hug her!!This is June from Little Einsteins. This is Leo from Little Einsteins. Annie and Quincy were at the Playhouse Disney dance party the night before, so Halle did get to see them. It worked out well to have the two of them at the lunch because for some reason Leo and June are her favorites.Tuesday night was the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. People dressed in costumes and everything. That's why Halle is wearing butterly wings. This is on those little rockets that fly in circles really high over Magic Kingdom. She loves this (from her experience in Disneyland). Usually this ride in about an hour ride no matter the time of day. During the party there was no more than a 10-15 minute wait on any ride. It was awesome. These are the tea cups. Jared chose not to join us, he hates these things. Halle LOVED it and even got us spinning a little. We waited in line to see Pooh bear and friends and Halle was so excited that she just kept kissing me. It was really cute.Look how brave she is all by herself. These are some of her favorite characters, so she did not even hesitate going to visit them. Of course, this is Pooh Bear and Eeyore, whose names she says VERY well.

This is on the carousel. She loves riding the horsies.
This is the cutest picture in the entire world. That's all there is to it.There was a dance party t Ariel's Grotto (I think that's where we are) and we found Donald Duck there in his pumpkin costume dancing.
In those other pictures with Pooh and Eeyore we were really waiting for Tigger and Piglet. They ended up switching out right as it was our turn. Then we went over later and Tigger and Piglet were back. Again, Halle went all by herself. Does anyone else find it weird that Piglet is a boy and his costume is a butterfly??Just a pretty picture infront of the castle.Daddy finally got brave enough to go on the tea cups. Halle loved spinning in circles. We took this picture since Pooh was probably Halle's favorite ride.Mickey's PhilharMagic is my favorite. It has yummy smells and is just overall fun. This is what Halle thought about my favorite ride. Within minutes of it starting she was asleep in my arms. Which is a HUGE accomplishment considering I have the child that will sleep nowhere but her bed or a pack 'n play in a silent room.My sleepy head. This was another one of Halle's favorites, It's a Small World. This was our last night (when she fell asleep on me) and luckily she woke up right as we were going to leave the park since there wasn't a whole lot to do with her asleep. By the time we she woke up they were closing things for the parade. We wanted to get out of there before that craziness, so we could only go on a few more rides. We went on the carousel. Then we told her she could go on one last ride. She chose "the people" ride. So, this is us on our last hoorah at Disney.

She was TERRIFIED of the fireworks. We were waiting for the shuttle take us back to our hotel and the fireworks started. This is a picture of my hand over her ears. She put my hand there. If I moved my hand she grabbed it and put it back. She also would grab my hand and put it over her eyes. She fell asleep on the shuttle. We took her back to the condo and in my attempt to change her before putting her in bed, she rolled over. The way she puts her hands under her cheek is exactly like I sleep. This is the last picture we took of our vacation. Isn't she so sweet?

Thanks again, Grandpa and Grandpa. We had so much fun and we love you lots.
