Last Saturday we went to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat at Hale Theatre. We have had tickets for a few months so we made Halle watch the movie with Donny Osmond and listen to the music to be familiar with the story and not ask too many questions during the play. She loved the music so much that she would ask to watch the movie every weekend and we'd listen to the soundtrack sometimes twice on Saturdays while doing house work and dancing. If you've seen the movie you know that the beginning starts with kids in a gym with a stage and they are singing, the teachers are against the walls, and the narrator is singing to the kids. So Halle informed us that when the kids come out she would go be on the stage and sing with them and "I know where you and dad are going to be. Standing against the wall." We had to tell her many times that she was not to leave her chair (we didn't think they would have a bunch of kids anyway, since the theatre is so small). Well, much to our surprise about 10 minutes before the show started an usher came to Halle and asked her if she wanted to be on the stage and have the narrator sing to her. OH MY GOSH we were so thrilled!! She of course said yes, though was a bit nervous. They took her backstage and when the play started she came out with 4 other kids, all probably 4-5 years older than her. She sat there so well. We were afraid when the stage started spinning and going up and down that she would freak out, but she was great. Honestly, I think we were more worried she'd lift up her shirt or pick her nose. She was so cute and so happy. Then Joseph started singing and fog was coming around him. She started waving her hands in the air trying to get the fog away from her and Joseph waved to her. At one point the narrator even said her name. After the first two songs the usher brought her back to her seat. She loved the play so much and we had to shush her a couple of times because she was singing. She asked when we were going back again.Since I wasn't really prepared for Halle's first day of school I took more pictures on her second day. She is so beautiful!
Thursday was the first Utah game of the season. Jared and Halle went while Eli and I stayed home. Eli and Halle wore matching shirts, but I don't have one of Halle. It says "Start 'em Young. Raise 'em Right."
Eli has started making the most hilarious faces. I took a bunch of pictures, and you get to see all of them! (And no - he's not pooping or eating anything sour.) Most are not centered because I was holding the camera on my knee while talking to him to get the silly face.
