Fun stuff

We had a quiet Thanksgiving, just the four of us at our house. My turkey turned out amazing! The pumpkin cheesecake was crazy delicious as well.
We had a crazy snow storm that produced huge snow drifts in our yard. In some places you could see the grass and in other places there was 3-4 feet of snow. The pictures don't do it justice.
Halle was discovered asleep on the stairs. Sneaky girl.
We painted the basement using a sprayer. Wow. It took a long time to get all that paint off. I decided Jared will be very handsome when he's old a grey.
Jared wanted to make a creepy face.

On Wednesday Halle had her school Christmas program. She did so awesome. At some points I could actually hear her singing over all of the other kids. I think her favorite song was Feliz Navidad. You should ask her to sing it for you, very cute.
Eli is cute and has chubby cheeks. Jared recently told me that for as much as I didn't want a boy I sure do seem to like him alright. I do. I completely love and adore him. Here, let me inundate you with pictures.

Pictures!

I had a fun time taking pictures of Halle and Eli the other day. I promise you this is only like 1/3 of the pictures I took. Okay, maybe 1/2. Enjoy!

Welcoming Eli!

Eli Jared Hurtado was born 10/26/10 at 2:58 PM weighing in at 7 lb 8 oz, 18 inches (as a comparison Halle was also 18 inches, but was 5 lb 8 oz). I couldn't stand being pregnant any longer and requested that my dr. induce me, so we checked into the hospital on 10/26. The night before we took some final pregnant pictures.
That night I had a lot of contractions and got up at 3 AM. We finally checked into the hospital at 7 AM as planned. My petosin got started around 8:30 and labor progressed from there. The nurse estimated he would be born at 3 PM. My goal was to go natural. I made until about 1:30 and an 8.5. That's when they realized he was turned posterior (facing up instead of down). They said that was making the contractions ultra painful and estimated another 1-2 hours of labor. No way. I got the epidural. 90 minutes later he had turned on his own and it was time to push. The nurse called the dr. at 2:45, he arrived at 2:49, got all prepped, and after two contractions of pushing Eli was here at 2:58!
Halle was adorably thrilled that her little brother was finally here and we got adorable video of her coming in the room. She came in all giddy with this adorable little giggle.
Can you see the pure joy on her face??
I love how my mom is looking so adoringly at Eli (and me I suppose).
Here are some pictures.
I think the ones having the hardest time adjusting are Rameses and Patch. Halle has her rough moments, but those are usually solved with an afternoon nap.

Today is Halloween, but in Utah apparently if Halloween is on a Sunday then the kids trick or treat on Saturday. Apparently this is my first Halloween Sunday since I moved here in 1999. Halle was Tinkerbell.
She told Jared exactly how she wanted her pumpkin to look. I think it looks kind of like Jack the Pumpkin King, which I think was her goal since she had just watched the movie. Her shirt says Daddy's under my spell.
