Party Time!

My little girl turned 5 on June 30. I can't believe she is going to be in kindergarten. We had a tropical/princess party at Grandma Joan's house. We rented this wet/dry bounce house princess castle. The water collected at the bottom of the slide like a little pool and the kids would go down the slide and just splash into it. They had so much fun. The party lasted 3 hours (4 if you include driving time carpooling all of the kids there and back) and they could have played longer. It just so happened that on that day the sun would only come and go and it could be a little chilly at times, so the girls would just huddle under towels until they were warm then run around some more.

Cousin Alyvia (love this picture!)
Loretta's son, Kaden (the only boy). He did not want to go in the pink princess castle, did not want to drink out of the pink cups. But he LOVED the flower bows that were in the party favors.

Lexi, Loretta's other daughter. Once I took her down the slide a couple of times she was thrilled to do it on her own.
Singing Happy Birthday makes Halle shy
I made a sand castle birthday cake and made the middle a rainbow cake. It took 3 boxes of cake and 3 containers of frosting. Yum!

Halle got a pink DSi from us, Joan & Jess, and my parents. Her cousin, Alyvia, has a DS and so upon opening the present she exclaimed, "LOOK WHAT ALYVIA GOT ME!" Oh no she didn't!! Even after explaining it wasn't from Alyvia, later at home as she was playing it she said, "I'm so excited Alyvia got me a pink DS for my birthday!" Ugh. I get no credit. I spent a lot of time researching which kind of DS to get her, what website would be best to purchase it from, and what games had the best reviews.
"Mom! Look what Alyvia got me!"

July 1 was our anniversary. We went out to Christopher's Steak House in Draper. Yum.

July 2 was my mom's birthday. We went to her house on the 3rd for family dinner. My cousins from Mexico, Matthew and Mariana, arrived. I look forward to their visit each 4th of July. They are a lot of fun to talk to. Matthew loves to eat at our house. His family doesn't really like meat so he savors each bite of bacon and steak at our house. Mariana is a vegetarian, so she ate potatos during our amazing steak dinner

July 4 is our annual Greyhound Adoption get together with our fellow grey adopters and the woman, Sher who runs everything. It might be Rameses favorite day of every year.
Oh this one's ears make me laugh.
That's Sher they are all congregated around. Even when she doesn't have food they do this and just follow her around. They just know that she's the one that picked them up from their horrible old homes and brought them to a safe new family.
Look at these 4 huddle together. It's so sweet. They adore each other. Rameses doesn't really like other dogs or even sniff other dogs except fellow greyhounds.
A new visitor arrived! We must all go greet them! Rameses is the tallest one with the blue and red muzzle.
They do silly things, like sleeping in the middle of a hoola hoop.
Rameses does NOT like being bathed, but he'll happily lay in a swimming pool any day.

And finally, July 5 we had a rainbow.

Summer is here!

Halle had her final pre-school program a few weeks ago. I loved seeing her giggle with her friends.
"First you take the peanuts and crunch 'em, you crunch 'em."

"Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie 'em in a knot? Can you time 'em in a bow?"

I showed Halle how putting her hair in braids makes it wavy. She was so excited for me to do this and to sleep on it.

She was thrilled with the results!
Warm summer days, green grass, and sun. What does that mean? MORE Pictures!
I love when he laughs at his hands like this.

More Pictures

I'm no professional, but I absolutely love taking pictures. Incase you didn't know.

As a random side note, a neighbor had some freshly laid eggs. They taste and look different. Can you tell which one is from a happy hen not stuck with a gazillion other hens?

Sweet Eli

Jared and Halle went to daddy day at Halle's preschool so I spent a little bit of time taking pictures of Eli. He's 6 months now. My goodness.

He's 16 lb 3 oz (25%), almost 27 inches (75%). That puts his BMI in the 10%. I have no idea where he got his height or blue eyes. I promise he's ours.
