This was our first year taking Eli to Lake Powell with us, and this time we had the luxury of a houseboat. Unfortunately the houseboat’s generator broke before we got there, but Jess was able to rig something so that we at least had a fridge, freezer, running water, and some fans and lights. I have 150 pictures from this trip, so picking the best of the best could be difficult.
Sand castle/bath tub we found upon arrival:
A cool bug Grandma Joan found:
A place to collect his sea shells:
Eli’s first tubing experience:
Liam HATED this life vest, and I don’t blame him, poor kid.
Funny that Halle wants to go slower (thumbs down), but Alyvia wants to go faster (thumbs up).
Grandma Joan was being silly.
Feeding the carp at the marina.
Refusing to take a nap, so compromised with rest time watching a show on Halle’s mp3 player.
Yes, he’s naked. We had nudists in the houseboat next to us, but only the men. The women remained clothed. Seriously, ew.
Jared dropped a knife after fishing. He’s not much of a swimmer and wanted me to get it, but seeing the fish and stuff that I’m swimming in totally freaks me out.
Got it!
Nap time.
Jory came and we played this game to see if he could slide into the center of the tube. He was really good at it.
Janae gave it a try.
Halle insisted on sliding like this, but eventually got brave enough to go on her own.
I think right after the above picture Halle pushed him down the slide, which is why he looks ridiculous in this picture.
As the water got lower the houseboat became beached and we had to back it off the shore. Here’s my hunk pushing the boat.
Our last night we had a fire with s’mores.
And that’s July. It was an awesome month!
