A couple of days after getting back from the trip with my mom, we headed to Moab. Jess and Jared had a business meeting in Colorado just an hour or so away so we made a trip out of it. We took Halle’s BFF Emma and were so thrilled her parents let her come along. We rented a condo with 3 bedrooms and a pullout sofa in the living room.
After a good night’s sleep, we headed to Arches. We did the short walk around balanced rock, which Eli was totally obsessed with and wanted to visit every day.
Next was the much longer hike to Delicate Arch.
It was SOOO windy once we arrived at the arch that we wouldn’t let any child walk without holding an adult’s hand.
Eli was exhausted.
Then we headed to Mill Creek Trail and played in some super cold water with crawfish galore. We could have had quite the feast that night.
We noticed as we were done playing that there was a hummingbird nest in the tree where we had been playing. Jared loves hummingbirds and it was so col to see this. It was SO tiny!!
The next day Jess and Jared headed out so it was Joan and me with the kids. We went to the sand dune that’s near the entrance to Arches.
After running down the sand, the girls headed up for a second time.
Back into Arches to the double arches hike, which is short, but very cool.
Eli was done at that point, so Joan stayed at the car with him, and I took the girls to Turret Arch and the North and South Windows.
The next day it was time to go home, but first we headed back to the sand dune since it was such a blast and Jared missed out. The kids were really excited to go again.
This is a selfie of me running down the hill.
Then we drove to Dead Horse Point.
This was my first time in Moab, and I would love to go over and over again. The weather was surprisingly mild and it was just gorgeous.
But wait…there’s more. We’re still only in mid-June!
Pitting cherries to freeze.
Playing the Wii with Emma and Ty. Check out Eli in his swimming goggles.
Next up was Halle’s birthday party. We held it about a week before her birthday since Jared an I would be on a cruise on her birthday. We took some girls to a cosmetology school of hair, makeup, and finger nails.

Then we picked up some pizza and headed home for lunch and gifts.
Then to Maui Chill for some frozen yogurt.
Jared and I left for our cruise on June 29, but I’ll blog about the cruise in its own post.
