In April Eli painted for the first time.
And we had Easter.
| Eli pre-buzz cut had CRAZY hair. |
| She has socks in her hair. It gives her beautiful curls without the time of a curling iron. |
On May 11 Eli got stitches. I was making enchiladas and had put the cans in recycling. I didn't take the tops all the way off the cans, and just kind of pushed the top inside. He put his hand in the can, then when he tried to pull it out his finger got stuck on the top of the can that had been pushed inside. It was 2 hours before we finally got the stitches (not because we waited, but because urgent care places and the ER take forever) and it was still gushing blood. We started at urgent care where they were willing to do it, but didn't think it was wise to do it without anesthesia given how young and wiggly he is. They suggested they refund my copay and I go to te ER where they are allowed to give anesthesia. So I headed to the ER. They wrapped him in a sheet with his left arm stuck to his side, had one guy hold down his body and legs, another lady hold his arm in place, I held his neck and head and the dr. held his finger. The dr. gave a numbing shot in his finger (they refused to give him any sort of anesthesia to calm him, I was really bothered since I made the trip there especially for that and the copay was 4 times more than urgent care). Then he laid there and screamed "NO! Nice! No! POP, POP!"(Pop is Stop) and it was so sad. He was trying so hard to tell them to be nice and stop. I was in tears. They told me I could leave the room, but no way was I going to leave him like that! They gave him a GIANT otter pop that was almost taller than he is, and about as thick as his arm.
| Look how much drool is on his shirt fom screaming! |
| Patch got his nails cut. This isn't a once in a lifetime thing, but Jared took pictures of how pathetic he is. |
| Aren't they so cute?! |
Halle graduated from Kindergarten in May.
| She loved going to all day kindergarten with Mrs. Anglesey. |
The funnest part of May was our crawfish boil! I grew up in Texas, and my brother and his family just moved here from Texas last year. In Texas every May they have crawfish boils, and we couldn't stop that tradition. They ordered a bunch of live crawfish and had them shipped and we all shared the bill. I'm sure we'll do this every year.
| First they get a bath to get all the dirt off. Then they get a salt bath which supposedly makes them poop. |
| Nephew Hayden. He's a pro. |
| Eli and Erica. Eli had no desire to touch the crawfish (don't worry, we pulled off its claws) and he gagged anytime he got near the pool. |
| Teeter totters are fun for everyone! And do you see that awesome slide coming off their deck? |
| Jess falls asleep at every family event. |
| My niece, Ainslee had no fear! |
| Kissy kiss kiss! |
| She'd put them in this basket, then back in the water and back and forth. |
| Joan's first time enjoying crawfish! |
| Who's this hotty?? |
| Kissy kiss kiss! |
| My good friend of 20 years, Erica, happened to be here from Iowa to visit. |
| Kissy kiss kiss!! |
| Crawfish guts. Yum. |
| This was a seriously awesome day. |
| The next day was Mother's Day. This is what all of the Kline kids got my mom. She cried. |
