August 2015

As part of the Humans vs Zombies game I referenced in my last post, there was a sidewalk chalk competition. I think you got revived to a human if you won. Halle and Emma both participated.  IMG_0923Halle’s Zombie is trying to eat a person and their baby.

 IMG_0924Emma’s zombie says Yumy Brains!

I’m guessing that Eli insisted he wasn’t tired after we sent him to his room for a nap.

Halle tried out for competition team and made a LaRoca comp soccer team. They had tournaments and lots of practice during the summer.

David was blessed by Jared on August 9. He wore the same outfit that Eli did. My mom made it and I just love it. After the blessing we had lunch at the park.

I’m xo excited Erin and her 4 boys (and girl in utero) also made it down from Alaska for this!

That evening was a small family reunion for Joan’s side of the family.

We went on our annual girls trip to St. George to go to the Tuacahn Theatre. This year Erin and Paulette came and we rented a house. It was a blast! On the way down we transported a dog from Nephi to St. George.

We always enjoy exploring a little red rock park while we’re there. Apparently Paulette is terrified of heights, and can’t stand the thought of people near edges. She literally would just lay there and be like, BACK AWAY FROM THE EDGE!! when we were already super far from the edge.

It seems that at least quarterly I have to post an embarassing picture of myself.

Jared had a work trip to Ketchikan, Alaska where he had to take a teeny tiny plane to a little island.

While he was there Halle had her first day of school. DSC_0010 (2)IMG_0973IMG_0976

Eli started preschool at Traverse Mountain Elementary, and is going 4 days/week.

Our water main cracked and was leaking into the basement. It was a slow enough leak that it didn’t flood the basement, but fast enough that we had to change out 5-6 towels every few hours all night. We kept a bin in the basement, carried up the super heavy towels full of water, put them on a spin cycle, then dried them. By the time that was all done it was time to trade out the towels again. Jared took the shift until about 3AM, then I took over. Jared dug this hole about 7-8 feet down to get to the water main, which was at the basement floor. The plumber said it should have only been burried about 3-4 feet deep, and should have lasted a lifetime. But the builders dug too deep, and so the line was just kind of floating down there, with no dirt under it, and once the ground settled it cracked the line. He found the leak, and the plumber had it fixed in about an hour or two. Jared saved us a ton of money by digging the hole instead of a plumber excavating the whole area.

This also led us to the discovery that there was about a one foot gap under our walkway. No dirt, just air under there, it inevitably would’ve collapsed so we had our driveway and walkway repaired as well.

David really got the smiles down to perfection in August.IMG_0519 (2)

Jared took the kids to Boondocks. Halle really struggles with making soccer goal and being agressive, so Jared told her if she scored at the first game he’d take her to Boondocks. I think she scored within the first few minutes of the game. We were completely shocked, but Jared delivered.

Eli just loves his little brother, and Halle is such a great big sister.IMG_1020IMG_1021DSC05394DSC05252

July 2015

David got to meet his Great Grandmas.  IMG_0393_thumbIMG_0398_thumb

I decided I would vacuum more frequently because it always put him to sleep.

IMG_0409_thumb

Jared used to take the other kids to work at this age, so he’s a good multi-tasker.

Halle donated her hair.

Jared beat his mile record.

David STILL, at almost 10 months, sleeps like this. Swaddled with his arms out.

Halle’s team got second place in the La Roca soccer tournament.IMG_0417_thumb

Michael (Janae’s baby) wasn’t such a great sleeper and sometimes Jared kind of tortured her about it because David always was and still is an amazing sleeper.

David learned to smile.

He’s just so sweet!!! I really love babies.

David was just too little for Lake Powell this year and I didn’t want him waking in the middle of the night and disturbing everyone. Jared took Halle, Emma, and Eli.

While they were gone David got his 8 week shots and was a disaster. I couldn’t touch him without making him pout and scream. 7.28.15-1_thumb

The month ended with a fun humans vs zombies game in the neighborhood. Jared was the last human in the family and kept his gun at the ready at all times.
